The SDL is happy to participate in the 2nd High-Level Symposium of the EU-Japan collaboration project HANAMI, where Oleksandr Krochak and Andreas Lintermann from our SDL organized a special session on biomedical flows.

Invited talk announcement: Andreas Lintermann from our SDL provises an invited talk on "Integration of AI in Physics Simulations" at the Machine Leaning & Astrophysics Workshop organized by the Center for Data and Simulation Science (CDS) and the DFG Collaborative Research Center SFB 1601 at the University of Cologne.

The SDL is organizing the fourth time in a row a minisymposium on CFD+AI+HPC on the ParCFD Conference. This time, the conference will be held Merida, Yucatan, Mexico in November 2025. We are very much looking forward to the event. The submission deadline is July 7th, 2025.

We are happy to announce that the SDL is about to start a more intense collaboration with the Fire Department Cologne within the context of the EuroCC2 project. The SDL aims to provide a proof-of-concept for the identification of causalities between ambulance deployment and environmental factors.

The SDL organized the ML Workshop of the HPC-ASE Division and presented the SDL's AI activities to the division. Furthermore, a detailed introduction to Hyperparameter Optimization incl. a hands-on session was provided.

We are happy to announce, that our Invited Session proposal "High Performance Computing in Research and Industry" to the ECCOMAS Thematics Conference "Math 2 Product" 2025, together with RIKEN R-CCS, KTH, and BSC, was accepted (IS13)!

Mario Rüttgers, Fabian Hübenthal (RWTH Aachen University), Makoto Tsubokura (RIKEN R-CCS), and Andreas Lintermann received the PPAM Best Paper Award 2024 (winner for workshops) for their work about "Parallel reinforcement learning and Gaussian process regression for improved physics-based nasal surgery planning".
