2D Molecular Architecture

About

We investigate the electronic structure and spin states of metal centers in surface-supported metal-organic systems. By tuning interactions with metallic substrates and modifying the coordination environment of metal centers through axial ligand functionalization, we control their electronic and magnetic properties. Using photoemission tomography, we aim to directly observe the formation of delocalized band structures during the hierarchical assembly of organic linkers and metal centers into a 2D metal-organic framework lattice.

Research Topics

  • Momentum microscopy and photoemission tomography
  • Electronic and magnetic properties of organic/metal interfaces
  • Band structure of metal-ligand hybrid states
