Electronic Structure of Quantum Materials Group

About

The electronic and magnetic properties of quantum materials are encoded in their quantum mechanical wave functions. We aim to reconstruct these wave functions, understanding of which is critical in design of future quantum devices, from circular dichroic and spin-polarized photoemission excitation spectra. Our experiments are designed based on the multiple-scattering theory of the photoemission process. They are performed at our high-resolution laser-driver spin-polarized photoemission system at PGI-6 and at leading synchrotron laboratories worldwide.

Research Topics

  • Connection to quantum-geometric tensor
  • Visualization of magnetism in the band structure
  • Spectromicroscopy at the limit of few-atom thickness
  • High-resolution laser-driven spin-ARPES
