Review: LCM 2025 in Palermo

In September 2025, the twelfth Life Cycle Management Conference took place in Palermo – the largest edition yet, bringing together over 1,000 participants from around the world. Held every two years, the LCM Conference is one of the most important global platforms for discussing sustainable solutions based on Life Cycle Thinking across policy, science, society, and industry.
Our colleague Sally Springer from our Sustainable Life Cycles Team presented her latest research on Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), contributing with a poster titled:
„Combine or stand-alone: S-LCA and social acceptance for decision making“
Key questions explored:
- How can social sustainability be assessed and integrated into decision-making processes?
- What role does social acceptance play in enabling successful transitions?
With sessions on dynamic and prospective LCA, policy coherence, and social data innovations, the conference provided rich insights and valuable networking opportunities.
