🌍 RenoVisor kicks off in Bilbao – coordinated by Jülich Systems Analysis (ICE-2)

We are pleased to announce the official launch of RenoVisor, a Horizon Europe project coordinated by Jülich Systems Analysis (ICE-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. What makes this project even more remarkable: our colleagues Noah Pflugradt and Katharina Rieck successfully acquired the grant and now lead the project – an outstanding achievement.
The kick-off meeting took place on 4–5 November in Bilbao, hosted by Universidad de Deusto. Over the next four years (October 2025 – September 2029), partners from across Europe will work together to develop three digital tools that support energy-efficient renovations for single-family homes, co-owned buildings and energy communities.
RenoVisor aims to overcome key barriers to renovation – such as lack of information, complex decisions, and financial uncertainty – while ensuring that vulnerable households affected by energy and transport poverty are not left behind.
“The last thing the world needs is another webtool by scientists that is usable only by scientists. We aim to do it better and bridge the gap between research and real-world application!”
– Katharina Rieck, Coordination Team RenoVisor, Jülich Systems Analysis (ICE-2)
Congratulations to Noah and Kathi – coordinating a successful EU project is a major achievement. We are proud to see Jülich Systems Analysis (ICE-2) lead this important contribution to a sustainable and inclusive European energy transition.
