Pilot Plant Production

The different process steps are developed and optimized on laboratory scale. These processes need to be scaled up for the pilot plant production which is either focused on a roll-to-roll slot die coating process or on a circulating conveyor belt which helps to develop completely coated membrane electrode assemblies in three subsequent coating steps. After drying each layer, the next functional layer can be applied in the next coating step just by circulating the belt.

The development of intermittend and continuous coating of each of the different functional layers can be conducted by applying a R2R unit. In this way, we have additional opportunities to develop the processes flexibly in everyday research.

Available Processes:

• Three slot die coating units for intermittend and contionous coating
• Maximum coating width: 300 mm
• Hot-rolling up to 150°C
