Infrastructure and Scientific Coordination (INW-I)
The INW-I department supports the scientific institute divisions INW-1 to INW-4, which form the core of HC-H2, with tailor-made administrative and technical solutions. The department is divided into the Science Office (INW-IS), Technical Administrative Infrastructure (INW-IT), and Hydrogen Network NRW (INW-IN) teams. Our task? We take care of the background work, create structures for smooth processes, and help to showcase the scientific excellence of the INW. As an interface between research, administration, and external partners, we ensure that innovation does not fail due to bureaucratic hurdles. Our goal is to combine excellent science with efficient management by working together to design efficient and smooth processes and support progress.

The Science Office ensures that our scientists can concentrate fully on their research. As the central point of contact for science management and administrative processes of all kinds, we support projects from the initial idea to successful implementation. From application submission and budget planning to reporting – we keep track of all the figures (and forms) to ensure that research is not only innovative but also economically sustainable. We accompany and shape INW's research projects, provide support with strategic orientation, and help turn visions into tangible results.
Technical and Administrative Infrastructure (INW-IT)
The Technical and Administrative Infrastructure is a team of experts who support researchers with innovative and practical solutions. The team's work ranges from the construction of technical equipment in the INW's highly specialized mechanical and electronic workshop to the development of infrastructure and IT support. The aim is to promote innovation by working together with the scientific departments on an interdisciplinary basis, optimizing processes, ensuring the highest safety standards, and practicing sustainable methods.
Hydrogen Network NRW
“If only I had known...” – to prevent this from happening in the first place, the Network Team ensures that the right partners come together. We raise awareness of the cluster's projects and show companies, local authorities, academic institutions, and skilled workers how they can get actively involved and network with us and our partners. Our goal? To facilitate cooperation, create synergies, and drive forward innovative hydrogen projects. Whether it's initial contacts, strategic partnerships, or the implementation of joint projects – we bring the right players to the table.
