Chinese Government honours Peter Grünberg with Friendship Award

Jülich/Beijing, 5 October 2016 – Professor Peter Grünberg, Helmholtz Professor at Forschungszentrum Jülich (PGI-6) and Nobel Prize Winner in Physics in 2007, was honoured with the “Friendship Award of the People’s Republic of China” on 29 September. The Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai presented the physicist with the prize, which is regarded as China’s highest national distinction for expert foreign nationals, during a ceremony in the “Great Hall of the People” in Beijing.
