Project description
Hydrogen is the central energy carrier for the energy transition. The Australian company Hysata is developing a novel capillary-fed water electrolyser with significantly lower energy consumption compared to conventional electrolysers. The High-Efficiency 'Capillary-fed' Electrolyser Pilot (CFE Pilot) project aims to scale up and develop this new electrolyser.
This pilot project, which will test the performance of a 200-kW stack at an Australian steel manufacturer, will demonstrate the safe operation of the Hysata electrolyser in the production of green hydrogen.
The project is part of the HyGATE (German-Australian Hydrogen Innovation and Technology Incubator) initiative, which aims to establish a German-Australian supply chain for green hydrogen. The initiative aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of hydrogen technologies and to stimulate innovation processes.

Our tasks within the project
The purity of the electrolysis gas produced is crucial for many fields of electrolyser application. The ICE-3 examines the anode and cathode gas for impurities caused by volatile organic compounds using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
