JuRSE Code of the Month - September 2024
Each month we highlight a code from Forschungszentrum Jülich and this month's code is co-developed at the Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons (ER-C).

LiberTEM
This software is an open source platform for high-throughput distributed processing of large-scale binary data sets and live data streams using a stream-based programming model. The current focus is pixelated scanning transmission electron microscopy (4DSTEM) and scanning electron beam diffraction data.

JuRSE selected highlights
Lots of applications, lots of contributors, a whole ecosystem to take care of. They show (and know!) why proper RSE techniques are important to keep the software clean and organized. Oh, and they have to deal with GUIs, a challenge by itself. Very nice: the code has been described in a dedicated paper at the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS).
