JuRSE Travel Grants
**Update (September 2025): Applications for travel grants to the deRSE Conference in March 2026 are NOW OPEN!**

Are you interested in engaging with RSEs around the world, listening to what they are up to, or in presenting your own RSE work? You want to attend a dedicated RSE meeting, but there is no money in the pot for this?
JuRSE has got you covered! JuRSE is awarding travel grants for deRSE conferences, RSECon (UK), and even US-RSE. We want to enable students, PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and RSEs from FZJ to show how they are doing RSE, to let them contribute to discussions about research software, and to make them part of a larger, nation- and worldwide community.
Not from FZJ, but want to go to the next deRSE conference? We also got you covered! We have reserved a couple of places for non-FZJ people and in this case, the grants are specifically for the deRSE Conferences. Same conditions apply (see below).
The JuRSE team gratefully acknowledges funding received by Jülich's Support for Early-Career Scientists (W) and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre.
How to apply
If you want to apply for a JuRSE Travel Grant to attend the next deRSE Conference, the next RSECon (UK), or the US-RSE Conference, please check below for open calls. If one of them is open, please use this form. This will ask you for:
- your name, your email address, your affiliation/institute, and your current position
- your CV (short, 2 pages max., no need to include a full list of publications)
- a letter of motivation, which should contain what your relationship to RSE is, why you want to go this particular meeting, and how you intend to engage there, approx. 1 page
Rules and regulations as described here apply.
