JuGit
What is a version control system and which ones are available at FZ Jülich?
JuGit is the currently offered platform for FZJ employees.
The version control system is used to record changes to data (e.g. documents, program code) by a defined group of people, which are managed in a common storage location ("repository"). Each change is stored with a time stamp and the author of the change. The resulting history makes it possible to track changes and return to earlier statuses.
The use of version control systems is important in the development of high-quality software in order, among other things, to maintain an overview of all changes to the code and the software developers involved. These should be linked with collaborative functions for projects and communities.
More information on JuGIT is on the intranet. Only accessible to FZJ employees.
