Software Carpentry
Software Carpentry is a volunteer project that teaches basic computer skills to researchers. HIDA is a member of this project. Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less effort by teaching them basic research computing skills.
Workshops cover basic concepts and tools: Program Design, Version Control, Data Management, and Task Automation. Participants are encouraged to help each other and apply what they learn to their own research problems. Trained trainers lead the Carpentries-Workshops on a volunteer basis.
