UK RSECon'25 - Mamaka Narava

Attending UKRSE 2025 was a truly rewarding experience. I really enjoyed the variety of talks — they were insightful, well-presented, and sparked meaningful discussions about the evolving role of research software engineers. Although there were only a few posters, the overall quality and depth of the sessions made the event highly engaging. The conference was excellently organized, and I appreciated how seamlessly everything ran. I had joined the Connect Scheme, which supported my participation in RSECon25, and I'm especially thankful to Robert Chisholm for his kind help with directions and event information.

One of the highlights for me was attending the interactive workshops on AI, which offered valuable and thought-provoking discussions. The Slack communication channels were another great aspect of the event — they made it easy to connect with participants outside the workshops and continue conversations beyond the sessions. I also enjoyed learning about what's happening across the global RSE community, especially developments in the Netherlands, where I had the chance to network with researchers from TU Delft. Overall, UKRSE 2025 was not only informative but also inspiring — a wonderful opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and feel connected to the growing RSE community worldwide.

Although I couldn't present a poster or give a talk this time, the experience has motivated me to prepare a submission for the next conference.
