Integrated Computing Architectures (PGI-4)

The preprint of our paper entitled “Automated Charge Transition Detection in Quantum Dot Charge Stability Diagrams” by Fabian Hader, Fabian Fuchs, Sarah Fleitmann, Karin Havemann, Benedikt Scherer, Jan Vogelbruch, Lotte Geck, and Stefan van Waasen is now available.

In February, Alexander Sulaberidze, Student of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Free University of Tbilisi, Georgia, spent a one-month internship at our institute ICA | PGI-4. During this time, he was able to gain many new insights thanks to the Georgian-German Science Bridge project. We are happy that Alexander contributed so well and at the end of his internship he also gave a lecture in our weekly lecture series.

We are happy to share that coupled oscillator chip Dolpin.SNN, is here! Dolphin.SNN, implemented in 28 nm process technology, is inspired by the Kuramoto model with delay to emulate real-world systems. This chip serves as a platform for studying coupled oscillators where each oscillator is represented by a Phase Locked Loop (PLL).

Integrated Computing Architectures (ICA) is a scientific institute of Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH performing research and innovation in different fields of Future Computing paradigms using semiconductor solutions to enable the scalability of novel computing approaches. This reaches from system modeling over implementations up to system integration of novel devices, like memristors and qubits to enable real applications to significantly advance today’s computing capabilities.

Finally, the time has come: The result of our joint efforts over the past two years, our compact electronics and sophisticated crate composition embarked on its journey.
