In order to plan out your career, the Career Center offers various events and training courses. Tailored training programmes will prepare you for the various career pathways within or outside of science, help you gain transferable skills, and equip you for complex leadership and management tasks.

Alumni Talk

Take the chance to have a lively discussion about careers with former scientists of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The Alumni will talk about their career paths, explain what their every-day working life is like, and answer your questions about your own professional futures in a relaxed setting.

Career Prep

Career Prep Seminars are focusing on different career related topics, such as application know-how, entrepreneurship education or career options in industry. Topics always are closely related to your needs when it comes closer to the next steps in your career.

Advanced Talents Talk

The Advanced Talents Talk is a cooperation event between Forschungszentrum Jülich, RWTH Aachen University and University of Cologne. Since 2015, the event has been held annually, alternating between the institutions. The aim of the event is to provide early career researchers with the latest trends and findings with regard to career paths, legislation, appointment and negotiation techniques. In addition, there are many opportunities to get into conversation and build new networks.

Jülich Career Day

To find your career path, you need to know about the options, stay up to date, and expand your network. At the Jülich Career Days experts from various scientific fields, industry, academia, and scientific management will be on hand to talk about their own experiences and career opportunities. You will have the chance to participate in the panel discussions or speak to the experts.

Postdoc Retreat

The Postdoc Retreat is an exchange format for postdocs at Forschungszentrum Jülich. Within this framework, we would like to promote networking among postdocs as well as interdisciplinary exchange. The focus of the event is determined by postdocs participating in the postdoc community of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The next retreat will take place in 2024.
