Phenotyping photosynthesis: yes we can

This is the fascinating title of the insights article in journal of experimental botany (JXB) by Samuall H Taylor. Insights are “….commentaries in an easy-to-read style on some of JXB’s most exciting papers”

Phenotyping photosynthesis: yes we can

In this case Beat Keller’s article  on research performed in IBG-2 published together with colleagues with the title :  Linking photosynthesis and yield reveals a strategy to improve light use efficiency in a climbing bean breeding population.

This work builds upon  a  decade of expertise in bringing the light induced fluorescence transient device (LIFT)  the field for phenotyping purposes by Onno Muller (co-author of the article) and colleagues cited within the insights. Onno Muller says Phenotyping photosynthesis: we do our best.
