Jülich Plant Phenotyping Center

About

We develop innovative methods for measuring plants (so-called phenotyping). With the help of these novel technologies, we can measure non-destructively plant shoots, including leaves, stems, and flowers as well as roots of agricultural and horticultural crops, including special and niche crops such as herbal and medicinal plants. The broad application of these methods opens up new avenues for addressing pressing social challenges, such as adapting plants to climate change and securing global food supply by breeding new efficient and adaptive varieties.

Research Topics

Development, validation and application of non-invasive shoot and root phenotyping technologies.
