FarmDroid

A solar-powered automated robot for sowing and weeding in the field.

To aid the management of our fields without experimental design in the intermittent years of crop rotations we can make use of the Farmdroid. FarmDroid is a solar-powered field robot, which runs entirely on energy from solar panels making the operation sustainable and environmentally friendly. It has 4 solar panels which can charge the embedded lithium batteries for up to one full day of operation, reaching up to 950 m/h in autonomous operation. The FarmDroid weighs approximately 900 kg and leaves much less impact on the field than a regular tractor.

FarmDroid

With GPS-RTK technology, FarmDroid can autonomously sow crops using a wide range of densities and row distances. The FarmDroid also memorizes the location of every single seed, which makes it possible to control weeds both between the rows and in the rows with non-chemical methods.

FarmDroid

FarmDroid aims to minimize human labor by performing sowing and weeding activities autonomously using renewable energy resources.
