IT Specialist for System Integration (FiSi)

IT specialists for system integration (FiSi) have the task of planning and setting up customer-specific IT systems and troubleshooting them.

In IBG-2, exciting tasks in a heterogeneous scientific environment are waiting for the future IT specialist for system integration.

FiSi support scientists in planning and setting up scientific experiments. They take on the important task of finding and eliminating IT malfunctions. The technical environment includes various operating systems, such as Windows, Linux and Mac systems, but also embedded systems. Raspberry Pi computers or Arduino boards are often used to collect and store measurement data.

Various software is used in the measurement operation, such as NI LabVIEW.

The daily routine of a FiSi at the institute often consists of assisting colleagues with IT issues, providing central support for hardware and software issues. However, there are also tasks such as the individual compilation and configuration of server solutions, the planning, design and maintenance of media rooms, the configuration of info-steels and info-screens for scientific exhibitions, or assistance in setting up the institute's websites, and much more.
