JuRSE Code of the Month - February 2025
Each month we highlight a code from Forschungszentrum Jülich and this month's code is developed at the Institute for Advanced Simulation, Civil Safety Research (IAS-7).

PeTrack
PeTrack (Pedestrian Tracking) automatically extracts accurate pedestrian trajectories from video recordings (calibration, recognition, tracking). Individual codes enable personalized trajectories with static information of each participant. With a stereo camera also markerless tracking is possible.

JuRSE selected highlights
PeTrack is a widely used code that has CI pipelines for different operating systems, covering unit and regression tests. Their documentation includes aspects relevant to users and contributors, such as a demo, guidance from planning an experiment to final fixes, a cheat sheet, and coding guidelines. They show many nice videos and there is also a data archive with studies using PeTrack.
