JuRSE Code of the Month - January 2025

Each month we highlight a code from Forschungszentrum Jülich and this month's code is co-developed at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC).

Score-P
Score-P provides insight into massively parallel HPC applications, their communication, synchronization, I/O, and scaling behaviour to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and their causes.

JuRSE selected highlights
This code is highly beneficial for RSEs, as it facilitates an ecosystem for analysing and optimizing HPC applications written in C, C++, Fortran, and Python. Score-P has kept pace with the rapid evolution of HPC systems and is widely adopted at many HPC sites. The developers apply practices like build automation and testing, resulting in portable and ready-to-install tarballs. Regular training activities introduce the Score-P ecosystem to the targeted audience.
