JuRSE Code of the Month - October 2025
Each month we highlight a code from Forschungszentrum Jülich and this month's code is developed at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC).
JUBE
JUBE is a generic, lightweight, and configurable environment to run, monitor, and analyse application execution in a systematic way. This software is commonly used to execute benchmarks and complex workflows on High-Performance Computers, but is not limited to these systems.

JuRSE selected highlights
This code has come a long way since its initial working version, from a closed-source Perl helper script to a full-fledged, open-source, free-for-all HPC benchmarking tool written in modern Python that played a key role during the procurement of JUPITER. While outreach activities like website and user engagement might still be under development, their documentation tells the story of engaged developers, gathering beginner and expert knowledge, FAQs, and classical API description for users on all levels. This code shows that research software sometimes takes convoluted, unplanned paths and is rarely ever "done".
