JuRSE Team Members join the de-RSE e.V. Board
The de-RSE e.V. – Society for Research Software in Germany has elected a new board, with two members of Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) and the JuRSE team taking on leadership roles. Robert Speck has been elected Deputy Chairperson and Claire Wyatt will serve as Deputy Treasurer.
Founded to support and represent the growing research software community in Germany, de-RSE brings together people who develop, maintain, use, and support research software across disciplines and institutions. The association works to raise awareness of the importance of research software and the people behind it, promote good practices and sustainable software development, and provide opportunities for the community to connect, exchange knowledge, and collaborate. Through activities including its annual conference, community events, working groups, and policy and advocacy work, de-RSE provides an important national platform for everyone who works with research software, for example PhD students, Post Docs, Researchers and Research Software Engineers.
Robert and Claire have both been active in the RSE community for many years, and their new roles provide an opportunity to contribute to the association and represent the interests of the German RSE community. Their election comes at an important time for research software in Germany, as initiatives such as FutuRSI explore how research software can be further strengthened at a national level. We are pleased to see two members of the JuRSE team taking on leadership roles within de-RSE and look forward to their contributions to the wider RSE community.
