Centre
Forschungszentrum Jülich brings together numerous research fields and promotes interdisciplinary research at the highest level.
Scientific work is carried out at Jülich’s institutes. New centres are currently being implemented at Forschungszentrum Jülich to further improve collaboration between Jülich institutes and their closest cooperation partners and, in turn, to pursue strategically important topics over the long term. These centres can help to effectively combine and advance Jülich’s key research topics beyond individual institutes without having to establish new institutes or break up existing ones. They are also highly flexible, can dynamically adapt to the requirements of those involved, and can be expanded as required.
The first centres have been in development since 2020: the Jülich Quantum Computing Alliance (JUQCA) was established in spring 2021 and the Centre for Advanced Simulation and Analytics (CASA) was established in autumn 2021. The Jülich Neuromorphic Computing Alliance (JUNCA) is currently being developed and will be implemented as a third interdisciplinary centre.
