The Innovation Division is part of Corporate Development at Forschungszentrum Jülich. It manages all tasks related to the transfer of research results and serves as a full-service provider for inventions, patents, intellectual property, knowledge and technology transfer, spin-offs, licensing, and the commercialization of patents, know-how, and software.

Intellectual Property Management – FZ Jülich’s Patent Department

The Intellectual Property Management team is the internal service unit responsible for inventions, patents, and intellectual property rights. They support researchers and institutes throughout the process of securing and enforcing protection rights.

The Innovation Management team advises companies and societal groups interested in leveraging new insights and knowledge from Forschungszentrum Jülich. Acting as dedicated contacts for the institutes and researchers, they coordinate overarching processes and guide technology transfer projects from start to finish.

Business Relations supports both companies and scientists in establishing strategic partnerships and actively connects key stakeholders to collaboratively drive innovation forward.

Innovation Management is FZ Jülich's transfer office and advises scientists on how to find ways to transform their research results into real-world applications. Spin-offs, licensing, knowledge transfer and cooperations create great added value, for their career, the economy and society.

Innovation Management publishes technology offers and manages the financing of transfer projects with resources from the Innovation Fund at Forschungszentrum Jülich. To reduce the workload for scientists and institutes, the department handles negotiations and administration of licences.

As an office for technology transfer, the Innovation Managers provide support for spin-offs, explain the basics of entrepreneurship and promote training for scientific innovators.
