Internationalization Strategy
Conducting Research for a Changing Society – The Internationalization Strategy
Forschungszentrum Jülich is one of the largest research institutions in Europe. In the priority fields of information, energy, and bioeconomy, scientists use an interdisciplinary approach to work on the major challenges facing society. Beyond the interplay between disciplines at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Jülich’s research is part of a vast global network with collaborations, projects, and international visiting scientists. Every year, around 650 visiting scientists from 58 countries work and conduct research at Jülich’s institutes. Exchange across national borders promotes scientific achievements.
That is why, Forschungszentrum Jülich has specified the objectives of internationalization in its internationalization strategy and has also derived measures for further expanding international partnerships and increasing their international visibility. Science at Jülich should represent the international experience and the coexistence of cultures. Intercultural exchange and science management are the foundations of success in this respect.
Internationalization@Jülich
The internationalization strategy, “Internationalization@Jülich”, describes Jülich’s objectives of internationalization. The internationalization measures can be defined according to four fields of activity: “Internationalization@Home”, “Best Minds”, “Strategic Partnerships”, and “Visibility and Science Diplomacy”.
Key to all measures within the internationalization strategy are two objectives: Filling Skill Gaps and International Visibility.
