The IFF Spring School in Jülich

The annual IFF Spring Schools were first established by the Institut für Festkörperforschung (IFF) in 1970. After an internal restructuring process within Forschungszentrum Jülich, they are now jointly coordinated by the Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI), the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS), the Institute of Complex Systems (ICS) and the Institute for Advanced Simulation (IAS). The Spring Schools allow students as well as early career scientists to gain a two-week insight into a current topic related to the research activities of the organizing institutes. These range from electronic systems, their phenomena and applications in information technology to biophysics and soft matter research, development and application of high-performance computing to understand complex systems, as well as the operation of neutron scattering instruments at national and international neutron sources.

Short term study grants in North Rhine-Westphalia for Students from the Palestinian Territories

The State Government of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia offers short-term bursaries (8 to 12 weeks) for students wishing to undertake studies and research in North Rhine-Westphalia, currently for students from the following selected Palestinian universities:

• Birzeit University;
• Al-Quds University;
• Bethlehem University;
• An-Najah National University;
• Hebron University;
• Palestine Polytechnic University;
• Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie;
• The Arab American University;
• Drama Academy Ramallah.

Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities AGYA

The Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) promotes research cooperation among outstanding early-career researchers from all disciplines who are affiliated with a research institution in Germany or any Arab country. The academy provides partnership-building opportunities and funding to support the innovative projects of its members in various fields of research as well as in science policy and education. More than 50 members – in equal number Arab and German scholars – have been selected to join AGYA since 2013.
