Do you have good international connections and have you supervised many early-career scientists? If so, then you are an ideal candidate for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s (AvH) Henriette Herz Scouting Programme. AvH aims to selectively recruit researchers as scouts who are internationally networked and would like to expand their team with excellent Humboldt scholarship holders.
Those selected as scouts have the opportunity to nominate up to three talented young scientists from abroad. These scientists then receive a scholarship after a formal check as part of a direct awarding procedure. AvH is looking to expand and diversify its network. You should therefore particularly focus on early-career scientists for whom an application to AvH or a research stay in Germany would not previously have been possible. Your first nomination should also be a woman scientist.
This should enable up to 100 additional Humboldt Research Fellowships to be awarded each year.
As a rule, two independent experts compile an evaluation. A selection is made by an independent AvH selection committee.
The selection committee meets twice a year (end of May and end of November). The application procedure lasts 6 to 8 months.
Applications can be submitted online to AvH at any time.
