Symposium - From Membranes to Cells 2016

7 - 8 November 2016

Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany

 Scope

The symposium covers the structure and dynamics of complex fluids, soft matter, and biological systems, from colloids and (bio)polymers to the motion of cells, with emphasis on over 15 years of research at the Institute of Theoretical Soft Matter and Biophysics (ICS-2/IAS-2).

This links fundamental aspects of statistical physics from membranes right up to complex biological structures, such as cells or swimming bacteria. Moreover, it provides a perspective on future developments in this dynamic field of research.
