GPU Hackathon EuroHack 2017
The next GPU Hackathon that takes place in Europe will be in Jülich on March 6-10, 2017. This event is jointly organized by Jülich Supercomputing Centre, ORNL and Technical University Dresden.
The goal of the 5-day hands-on workshop is for current or prospective user groups of large-scale, GPU-accelerated systems to port their applications to GPU accelerators or to further optimize already ported applications. No prior GPU experience necessary. The teams should leave with applications running on GPUs, or at least with a clear roadmap of how to get there.
There will be intensive mentoring during this 5-day hands-on workshop. Mentors come from national laboratories, universities and vendors, and besides having extensive experience in programming GPUs, many of them develop the GPU-capable compilers and help define standards such as OpenACC and OpenMP. Access will be provided to both, JURECA nodes with K80 GPU and Haswell processors as well as to the OpenPOWER JURON system, which features POWER8 processors and NVLink attached P100 GPUs.
Join us for this one week of extreme immersion in GPU computing. If you are currently pondering if or how to move your application to GPUs, this event is for you and you should apply! For project applications go to https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/training-event/2017-gpu-hackathons. Deadline is January 13, 2017.
The selected projects will receive a mentor that will prepare them and their application for the hackathon week and will work with them in person during that week.
