YESP: Six postdocs selected – two of them from ICE-3
Six early-career researchers have been selected in the second round of funding for the Young Excellent Scientist Program (YESP), with two of them coming from ICE-3.

Simon Rosanka develops and applies atmospheric multiphase chemistry models describing the atmospheric composition to reduce uncertainties related to air quality and climate impacts, focusing on regional to global scales.
Peeyush Khare's research constrains the Influence of Intermediate- and Semi-Volatile Reactive Organic Emissions from Urban Sources on Ambient Air Quality.
The young researchers have prevailed in a two-stage selection process in a group of 20 applicants, nine of whom were invited for an interview. All of the selected candidates have already completed several international career stages before starting at the research centre.
Funding over the next three years
The selected colleagues will be supported in the coming months through individual support modules. This includes comprehensive support in creating their own website and the opportunity to present themselves and their research in the "Science online +" format. Candidates will also benefit from advice on funding options, mobility programmes, scientific awards and leadership skills.
Background to the funding programme
Under the patronage of Prof. Astrid Lambrecht, YESP was launched in 2023. According to the board, the programme aims to make the excellence of emerging young scientists visible and to support them on their way to outstanding positions in science.
