Prof. Dr. Bert Voigtländer

Prof. Dr. Bert Voigtländer studied physics at the University of Cologne and the RWTH Aachen University and earned his Ph.D. in 1989. During his postdoc visit at the IBM Research Center in Yorktown Heights, USA, he started research using scanning tunneling microscopy. As a staff scientist at Forschungszentrum Jülich he focused in the recent time on nanoscale charge transport measurements. In 2012, he founded the spin off company mProbes which offers multi-tip scanning probe microscopes. In 2015, he published a textbook about scanning probe microscopy.
