Participation at the 5th ISA Forum in Rabat, Morocco
From July 6 to July 11, Hawal Shamon, Vanessa Schmieja took part at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology in Rabat, Morocco. The main theme of the forum was „Knowing Justice in the Anthropocene“.
As one of the central international platforms for sociological exchange, the forum brought together colleagues from all over the world to discuss issues of global justice in the context of ecological and social upheaval, among other topics.
Our institute was represented with several contributions. These were the following sessions:
• Future-Oriented Preferences: Methodological Challenges of Analyzing Transformative Issues (H. Shamon, V. Schmieja, S. Böschen)
• Issues of Measurement Quality in Standardized Surveys (H. Shamon, V. Schmieja)
• Exploring Systematically the Future – How to Capture the Unknown and Uncertain? (H. Shamon, S. Vögele, S. Brauner)
In addition, Vanessa Schmieja gave a presentation on the topic:
• Customization and Choice Options in Online Surveys: Can They Influence the Willingness to Participate
It was a great experience with inspiring encounters, diverse perspectives and stimulating discussions with sociologists from all over the world.
