Socioeconomics

The department Socioeconomics focuses on the description and evaluation of transformation pathways from the perspectives of different actors. In particular, the department focuses on the development and use of macro-, regional-, and socio-economic tools to provide decision-relevant information. Special attention is paid to the integration of information and findings from other disciplines. Through its integrative approach, the department supports the identification of optimal transformation paths from the perspective of stakeholders and, hence, the decision-making process for energy and environmental policy measures. Accordingly, the department's overarching goal is to identify the most seamless and efficient transformation of the energy system in line with climate targets and the requirements of interest groups.
