Profile

The INM-9 Computational Biomedicine division develops and applies AI-supported, HPC-based simulation tools (from quantum to meso scale) together with systems biology to gain new insights into important molecular and subcellular processes in the human brain.

Based on this knowledge, INM-9 uses machine learning (ML), chemoinformatics and simulation approaches to develop ligands for new innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies against various brain diseases. Theoretical predictions and models are validated using experimental data obtained, for example, from electrophysiology, spectroscopy and cellular assays performed at FZJ and beyond.
