Jülich delegation visits to VNU University of Science

A Forschungszentrum Jülich delegation visited the VNU University of Science and the research center on February, 2017.

The program started with a welcome meeting with Prof. Nguyen Huu Duc, vice-rector of VNU, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi - Rector of University of Science, Dr. Tran Quoc Binh - Head of Science and Technology and TS. Le Huu Tuyen - Deputy Head of Administration - Foreign Affairs.

Prof. Duc presented an overview of the history, scale and strengths in training and scientific research of the University of Science, VNU. VNU has seven research centers, one state-level laboratory and five key laboratories. the KeyLab on Multiscale Simulations of Complex Systems is one of them.

At the meeting, Prof. Schmidt and Prof. Duc  discussed issues to further foster joint research projects in topics of interest for FZJ, and possible exchange of students from Vietnam to Juelich.  At the end of the meeting, Prof. Nguyen Van Noi thanked the Jülich delegation for their   interest in the University of Science at Hanoi.

The afternoon

focused on the KeyLab Seminar, during which Prof. Sebastian Schmidt described the Forschungszentrum’s research activities, while the KeyLab directors, Prof. Nguyen The Toan and Prof. Paolo Carloni, presented the main goals of the KeyLab on Multiscale Simulations of Complex Systems.

The visit might

open many opportunities for cooperation for Forschungszentrum Jülich

in the future.
