Prof. Wanxiang Feng from the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, is researching the interplay between the flow of electrons and the magnetic properties in chiral magnets and topological metals at the Peter Grünberg Institute/Institute for Advanced Simulation in the division Quantum Theory of Materials (PGI-1/IAS-1). These materials could make it possible to develop novel data storage for information processing.

Feng, a theoretical physicist, will conduct his research within the framework of a Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers until April 2018 in the Young Investigators Group “Topological Nanoelectronics”. Prof. Stefan Blügel, Institute Director and Group Leader Prof. Yuriy Mokrousov will oversee his research in Jülich.
