Workshop "Extreme Scaling on JUQUEEN"

Start
5th February 2015 08:00 AM
End
6th February 2015 04:00 PM

As with previous Blue Gene installations, JSC is organising an 'Extreme Scaling Workshop on JUQUEEN', its special purpose Blue Gene/Q supercomputer. The aim of the workshop is to give application teams an opportunity to scale their codes across the full JUQUEEN, up to the maximum of 1.8 million hardware threads. Appropriate hardware, software and support personnel will be provided to help to accomplish this task.

Participation is limited to a small number of application teams, with codes that demonstrate good scaling potential, and where at least one team member will be physically present on-site for the workshop.

Teams from previous extreme scaling workshops and High-Q Club members with application codes which have already demonstrated excellent scalability are not excluded, if algorithmic or other changes will be investigated or the focus may be on improved file I/O, etc.

Participation is by invitation only, so please contact Dirk Brömmel (d.broemmel@fz-juelich.de) or Brian Wylie (b.wylie@fz-juelich.de) as soon as possible if you would like to participate, with details of your code, its current scalability on Blue Gene/Q, and expected benefits from this opportunity to demonstrate extreme scalability.

The workshop report is available at http://hdl.handle.net/2128/8435.
