Structural plasticity hackathon
Start
22nd March 2017 09:00 AM
End
24th March 2017 04:00 PM
Location
Forschungszentrum Jülich, Seminar room at GRS building, building 16.15
This hackathon is intended to provide a space for developers to:
- Better understand the current computational models and implementations used to simulate structural plasticity in neural networks.
- Enhance the current implementation of structural plasticity in NEST by efficiently incorporating topology and, as a consequence, distance in the metrics used to select targets for the creation of new synapses.
- Discuss the redesign of information sharing for this algorithm and further optimizations.
There will also be a session on neuromorphic hardware for discussions of current restrictions of the architectures, followed by brainstorming on possible designs and implementations for both the BrainScaleS and the SpiNNaker systems.
We will have 3 short background presentations and the rest of the time we will concentrate on collaborative design and implementation.
