3rd Big Blue Gene Week

After two successful events dedicated to running large simulations, JSC will again offer a Big Blue Gene week to its users in early 2018. It will be the last event of this type on JUQUEEN which will cease operation in April 2018. Events of similar type will be offered on follow-up architectures.

The Big Blue Gene week is scheduled for the period from January 29th 2018 to February 5th 2018. As before, during this week job scheduling will be modified such that only jobs with a minimum of four Blue Gene/Q racks, i.e. 65,536 compute cores, will be allowed to run. Smaller jobs will be excluded from execution. All projects using JUQUEEN are invited to consider this opportunity in their planning.

IMPORTANT: Please let us know at least one week before the event if you intend to participate, in particular since your project quota will only be charged with 50% of the compute budget which is actually used during the week.
