In this study, we investigate the magnetic properties of the van der Waals ferromagnets, Fe3GeTe2 and Fe3GaTe2. Our research focuses on two topics: 1) Strain tunability of magneto-crystalline anisotropy in monolayer and bilayer Fe3GeTe2, for which we perform band analysis. According to our band analysis, the occupation change of some bands by strain is responsible for this tunability. 2) Why Fe3GaTe2 has higher Curie temperature than Fe3GeTe2, for which we compare their magnetic exchange coefficients (Jn). While Fe3GeTe2 has larger values for the first and second nearest neighbor interactions, the summation of Jn (n3) over all neighbors in Fe3GaTe2 is larger than that in Fe3GeTe2 due to positive contributions from higher-order Jn (n3).
