Young investigator group leadership positions enable outstanding early-career scientists to independently establish a research team and lead an innovative project. They represent an important step toward scientific independence while strengthening the individual research profile. Key funding schemes include programs of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (e.g., Emmy Noether), the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, as well as programs of the Helmholtz Association itself.
