Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Joachim Wuttke

Joachim Wuttke studied physics in München and Grenoble. A diploma thesis in theoretical statistical mechanics was followed by a PhD in experimental physical chemistry, based on research done at Grenoble and New York. In 2001, he became habilitated member of the physics faculty of Technische Universität München. As such, he is entitled to supervise B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. theses.

After a couple of years as a hardware and software developer in the telecommunication industry and as a highschool teacher, Joachim returned to fundamental research in 2005, when he became staff member of the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science in Garching. He directed the completion of the backscattering spectrometer SPHERES. As instrument responsible, he contributed especially to studies of supercooled water and hydrogen dynamics. In 2011 became head of the newly created Scientific Computing Group.

Joachim has published in areas as diverse as theoretical and experimental statistical physics, instrumentation and instrument simulation, fiber optical communication, computing, numerics, and educational testing.
