Storage Systems

The High-Performance Storage Team is responsible for designing, installing, and operating the large scale storage clusters that serve the Jülich High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems and cloud services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and deploying scalable and high-performance storage solutions for the Jülich HPC and cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborating with vendors to fine-tune and optimize our storage system configurations
  • Providing software services to HPC and cloud users, including data mover, object store, backup, and archive solutions
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in storage technologies for HPC, evaluating their potential impact on our infrastructure, and recommending strategic upgrades and improvements

This team plays a key role in enabling researchers and scientists to achieve their goals by providing fast, reliable, and efficient storage solutions that support cutting-edge computational workloads.

Within the Program-oriented Funding (PoF IV) of Helmholtz Information, this group contributes to Program 1 “Engineering Digital Futures”, Topic 2 “Supercomputing & Big Data Infrastructures”.
