Application Extreme-scaling Experience on Bullx Curie, Helios & Tera100

In 2010-2012 three Petascale systems of the Bullx technology by Bull were installed in different sites and for different usages and purposes: Tera100 and Curie in France, Helios at Rokkasho in Japan - respectively 1.25, 2 and 1.5 Pflop/s peak. CEA is in the unique position of having had access to all three machines, which we will briefly describe, reminding their main features, usages, technical environments, similarities and differences. We will then present a selection of applications from different CEA scientific teams, in different areas, that made usage of these petascale computers at highly parallel scales, mostly focusing on: Materials sciences on TERA100 and CURIE and Fusion for energy on CURIE and HELIOS.
