"K-scale" applications on the K computer and co-design effort for "post-K"
Miwako Tsuji, RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science
K computer is the first supercomputer to achieve a LINPACK benchmark performance of 10 petaflops in the world. The K computer shows sustained performance in real world applications as well as the LINPACK benchmark. In this talk, through introducing a wide range of applications, we present problems and solutions in porting and scaling applications on the K computer. Additionally, we introduce our approach to develop the post K computer based on the lessons learned from the development of the K computer and its applications.
