Ceremony (by personal invitation only)

Supercomputers are one of the most important universal tools in today's research to solve the great social challenges of the future. The Research Centre Jülich has been one of the leading supercomputing facilities in Europe for many years.

With the inauguration of JUWELS, the centre's new computer flagship and currently Germany's fastest supercomputer, the research centre aims to further expand this position. With at least 12 Petaflops computing power - equivalent to 12 quadrillion computing operations per second - and its highly flexible concept, JUWELS will provide valuable services for top interdisciplinary research and at the same time significantly improve the performance of North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany as a science location.

We are extremely pleased that Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek and Armin Laschet, Minister President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, will be inaugurating JUWELS. (participation by invitation only).
