JSC @ ISC High Performance '10

The International Supercomputing Conference took place at the Congress Center Hamburg from 30 May to 3 June 2010.
JSC presented its wide-ranging supercomputing activities (booth #132), in close collaboration with its partners in the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) and the Gauss Alliance. Jülich showcased its petaflop supercomputer JUGENE, the cluster supercomputer JUROPA, and JSC's involvement in future architecture research, most notably the QPACE project - a collaboration with DESY, several European universities, and industry. During the conference, Dr. Bernd Mohr (JSC) presented a "Crash Course on High Performance Computing". JSC staff was also present at the PRACE (#125) and UNICORE (#122) booths.

ExaCluster Laboratory just launched!

On Monday, 31 May 2010, during the International Conference on Supercomputing (ISC), the Research Centre Juelich and the companies Intel and ParTec signed a contract about a joint "ExaCluster Laboratory". In it the foundations will be laid till the end of this decade for a reliable operation of cluster computers in the exascale range of performance.
