Closure of Forschungszentrum Jülich Premises from 16 December 2020 to 10 January 2021- Impact on the Jülich Supercomputing Centre

Forschungszentrum Jülich is following the urgent request of the German Chancellor and the heads of government of the federal states to close the operational sites from 16 December 2020 to 10 January 2021, if possible, in order to be able to implement the principle "We stay at home" nationwide. JSC employees will also not work or will only work in home offices during this period. Accordingly, JSC is adjusting its range of services.
During this period, we will supplement this message for you with current information (updates).
Also, please note that from 24-31 December the research centre will be off duty.
HPC systems and support:
The HPC systems are still in operation. However, they are supported exclusively remotely and hardware repairs cannot usually be provided by service providers. The entire support team is also currently working from the home office. In addition, operations and support personnel are only available at reduced staffing levels during the aforementioned period.
For reporting problems with the HPC systems as well as support in the use of the supercomputers, the e-mail address is as usual

The support phone number, +49 2461-61-2828, is currently switched to an answering machine; recorded messages are immediately forwarded as voice messages to sc@fz-juelich.de and then processed further.

JuNet network services and IT security
Network and IT security services are also provided from the home office. This means that work requiring an on-site presence, e.g. the connection or relocation of computers, is not possible. In addition, operations and support personnel are only available at reduced staffing levels during the aforementioned period. Your known contact persons can generally still be reached by e-mail, but availability by telephone is temporarily restricted.
